PURPOSE: To increase the number of users to whom multimedia information is simultaneously delivered without increasing the scale of the system by reducing a prior signal generation in the video on-demand server serving the multimedia information requested by the user. CONSTITUTION: The multimedia information is stored in the form of analog signals and a coding section 12 encodes the multimedia information for the delivery to the user when the multimedia information is accessed at first, the generated digital signals are delivered and stored in a digital signal storage section 16. When the same multimedia information is accessed, a digital signal selection section 17 selects the digital signals stored in the digital signal storage section 16 and delivers the signal to the user.
