PURPOSE: To provide a character processor which can secure a sufficiently large number of external characters that can be registered for each person. CONSTITUTION: A character processor is provided with plural external files 53 where the external characters are registered for every user, and plural code system conversion tables 54 which convert the character code systems used by users into the internal character code systems. Then a user is discriminated by the user discrimination information which is inputted together with a character code, and a file 53 and a table 54 are selected in response to the user. The character code is converted into an internal character code system by the selected table 54 and then expanded into a character pattern by a standard character file and the selected file 53. Then this character pattern is displayed. Thus the files 53 are prepared for every user to secure a large number of external characters that can be registered for each person. |
