PURPOSE: To provide an explosion proof structure for electrochemical element in which the structure is simplified with minimized number of part items, and degassing can be performed not only by rising of an internal pressure but also a temperature. CONSTITUTION: In an explosion proof structure for electrochemical element having a rivet 10 which is an eternal terminal, the rivet 10 is formed into a hollowed cylinder so that the lower end part is opened, and the head part forms a thin part, and the thin part has a groove part formed thereon, so that the groove part is ruptured when the internal pressure of an electrochemical element case 15 is raised to a prescribed value or more. This explosion proof structure for electrochemical element also has a sealing plate mounted on the opening end of the electrochemical element case and having a vent hole on the peripheral part, the center part of which the rivet of the external terminal is mounted on. The vent hole is closely sealed by a lid body through a thermoplastic adhesive consisting of denaturated polyethylene. |
