摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To easily discriminate a cause of a fault by providing standby satellite communication equipment and replacing active communication equipment with the standby equipment so as to detect a fault in a short time. CONSTITUTION: When no reply data is received from an earth station satellite communication equipment 100a in an active satellite communication equipment 210, an active/standby changeover device 250 is used to replace the active communication equipment with a standby satellite communication equipment 230 to discriminate a cause to the fault as to whether it is in the equipment 210 or in the equipment 100a and transmission reception of supervisory data is made between the equipments 100a and 230. When the equipment 230 receives reply data from the equipment 100a, a cause to the fault is discriminated to be the equipment 210. When no reply data is received, the cause is discriminated to be the equipment 100a. Furthermore, when the fault occurrence in the equipment 100a is discriminated based on the content of the reply data received by the equipment 210, the equipment 230 is replaced by the equipment 250 for the transmission reception of supervisory data to/from the equipment 100a and the equipment 100a revises reply data to a center station 200 into a fault occurrence use synchronization word and sends it to the station 200. A synchronization word revision circuit 240 revises the received data into the fault occurrence use synchronization word to receive the reply data.</p>
