PURPOSE: To provide a microcomputer capable of performing debugging without using an ICE by executing a program for debugging assembled in the microcomputer corresponding to a command from a host computer. CONSTITUTION: In the microcomputer shown in the figure, the execution of an application program for debugging can be interrupted by executing a program in which a break address is stored in a correction address register 2, and data to start an interruptive operation execution program in a correction data register 4 and (1) in a latch 3, respectively by the command from a host side, and switching the access object of a CPU 1 from a ROM 5 to the correction data register 4 based on the output signal of a comparator when the execution address of the CPU 1 coincides with the break address. In addition to that, various kinds of debugging operations can be performed by executing every kind of program for debugging assembled in the microcomputer. |
