PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of providing various types of machines when other functions are necessary later, because in a conventional case, full color and monocolor image forming devices are made totally separately and the method of inputting external media in a printer, etc., are individually made. CONSTITUTION: A base engine 30 and a full color developing unit 31 are connected/disconnected with an interface unit 25 and a unit system, section 32 by a connector, a full color rotary developer 34 and a cartridge driving unit 33 for driving the same are integrated into the full color developing unit 31 and the cartridge driving unit 33 and a transmission unit 24 are loaded/ unloaded by a clutch or a gear. As shown in the drawing, when the full color developing unit 31 is coupled with the base engine 30, the full color developer 34 is placed opposite a photosensitive drum 9. A monocolor developing unit is made in the same manner and made to be selectively loaded/unloaded in and from the base engine 30. The same idea applies when the methods of inputting external media are provided. |
