The vehicle body has the door sill (15) formed by a beam fabricated from a U-section profile (17) with a closing sheet (18) that attaches to the floor of the vehicle. An upper and lower skirt (20) provides the decorative exterior for the top and bottom surfaces of the door sill. The outer face of the decorative exterior is a mobile strip (30), which can move laterally inside the upper and lower faces of the decorative exterior of the sill (20). The electric actuator (40) is placed inside the door sill. When the door is opened a switch (41) activates the actuator, which draws the outer face of the door sill (30) inward. When the door is closed the switch is opened and a spring (33) ensures return of the outer face of the door sill to the normal position.
