<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of voids within a resin by providing a movable section which reduces the internal volume of a metallic mold for connecting power cables in the longitudinal direction at the central part of the metallic mold and cooling an extrusion resin fed in the inside of the metallic mold and, when the pressure in the metallic mold drops, maintaining the pressure constantly by moving the movable section. CONSTITUTION: After the conductors of power cables A and B to be connected to each other are exposed and connected to each other by compression, the connecting section of the conductors is covered with the main body 1 of a metallic mold and fixed. When the temperature in the main body 1 is raised to a specific temperature by energizing a heater 3, a polyethylene resin is extruded into the main body 1 from an extrusion resin injecting hole 6. The extrusion of the resin and the energization of the heater 3 are stopped when the pressure indicated by a pressure gauge 5 becomes constant. When the main body 1 is cooled and the pressure indicated by the gauge 5 drops to a prescribed value, a platy movable die 11 is pushed into a resin injecting hole D by rotating the screw 12 of the movable section 10 so as to raise the pressure by reducing the volume of the mold 1. When the pressure reaches a constant value, the screw 12 is stopped. Therefore, the occurrence of voids in the extrusion resin can be prevented at the connecting section.</p> |
