PURPOSE: To realize coast lockup in the mode to minimize the response delay of a lockup release and reduce a lockup release shock at the time of acceleration. CONSTITUTION: When a controller 5 judges a coast lockup region based on the throttle opening TVO and vehicle speed VSP, it reduces the signal pressure Ps via the reduction of the duty D, and it minimizes the front/rear differential pressure PA-PR via a control valve 3 within the range that the clutch 2 is not slipped. When a vehicle goes out of the lockup region due to re-acceleration and the lockup is released, the reduction quantity of the differential pressure PA-PR can be decreased, and the response delay can be decreased. At the time of this release, the differential pressure PA-PR is gradually decreased from quick acceleration not to generate a shock, no shock is generated by gradual acceleration, and the differential pressure PA-PR is increased to the maximum at a stretch to complete the lockup. |
