PURPOSE: To improve a micro-step driving circuit for a two-phase excitation stepping motor used in a printer or a copying machine. CONSTITUTION: In a driving circuit for a two-phase excitation stepping motor (M), driving control is carried out on the basis of mode setting signals M1 and M2 for determining an excitation mode of the stepping motor (M), a revolution specifying clock (CK), and a mode setting auxiliary signal (M3) for selecting whether detection is carried out at rise-time or rise- and fall-time. After the rise-time detection or the rise- and fall-time detection is carried out according to the mode setting auxiliary signal, a driving unit 12 is controlled by an excitation mode setting unit 11 on the basis of the detected results and the mode setting signal M1 or M2. In addition, the driving unit 12 is operated for driving the stepping motor under control. |
