PURPOSE: To decrease unconformity of impedance in a transmission line to circuit impedance by connecting at the shortest distance to a connecting part connected to a mating member through a contact having a specified shape, when a circuit board is inserted into an electric connector. CONSTITUTION: A housing 1 is laterally formed in an electric connector, a recess 4 is formed in the center with end wall parts 2 and side wall parts 3, and a contact 6 having a specified shape is installed in each of many contact holes 5 passing downward through the housing 1 along the side wall parts 3 on both sides. When a circuit board P is inserted from the upper part and held in holding grooves 2B at both ends, the circuit board P presses outward a middle contact part 9A of the contact 6 in the width direction, the whole of a contact part 9 is displaced outward by the elastic deformation of a protruding part 7A, and a tip contact part 9C is brought into contact with the protruding part 7A. The circuit board P is connected in the shortest transmission line to a connecting part 8 connected with solder or the like to a mating member. Thereby, the connector is made compact, and electric characteristics are improved. |
