PURPOSE: To form an excellent image without being affected by distortion by setting the position of a supplied recording material so as not to cross the center of a belt-like moving body in the moving direction at the time of stopping it. CONSTITUTION: An endless belt (transfer belt) 8 as the moving body traveling in the direction of the arrow X is disposed in a main body. A recording material 6 taken out from a cassette 60 is first supplied/carried to the transfer belt 8 through a resist roller 13. Since the diameter of a driving roller 14 is large, the occurrence of a creep is comparatively little and the region of the transfer belt 8 coming into contact with the periphery of a supporting roller 11 having a small diameter at the time of stopping the transfer belt 8 becomes a place where the creep is severe. The recording material 6 is supplied to the transfer belt 8 not to cross the center of the belt 8 in the moving direction in its region being in contact with the periphery of the supporting roller 11, at the time of stopping the belt 8, so that an excellent transfer can be performed without the effect of the creep. |
