PURPOSE: To provide the safe emergency lighting device, which can surely start a discharge lamp even in the low temperature condition at the time of interruption of a commercial alternating current power source. CONSTITUTION: At the time of non-interruption of a commercial alternating current power source E, a fluorescent lamp FL is lighted through a ballast 1, and a battery B is charged. At the time of interruption of the commercial alternating current power source E, the direct current power of the battery B is supplied to an inverter circuit 3, and oscillated at a high frequency so as to light the fluorescent lamp FL. Since a series circuit of a resistor R7 and a Zener diode ZD1 is connected to an output coil Tr22 of an inverter transformer Tr2 through a current limiting ballast capacitor C5, current can be so as to prevent the striation at the time of low temperature. Charge of the current limiting ballast capacitor C5 with voltage at a value more than the necessity at the time of non-lighting of the fluorescent lamp FL or at the time of non-load in the nonconnection condition is prevented by the Zener diode ZD1, and rise of the non-load secondary voltage is prevented. |
