A compressor and a refrigeration cycle applying the same are provided to reduce the number of assembly processes and a manufacturing cost by expanding a refrigerant by using torque that drives a compressing unit of a compressor. A compressor(10) comprises a casing(110), a drive motor(120), a compressing unit(130), and an expansion unit(140). The compressing unit is assembled to the drive motor and compresses a refrigerant. The expansion unit is assembled to the drive motor and expands the refrigerant. The drive motor includes first and second drive motors and those two motors generate torques respectively.
