The level determining device includes a housing (1) with two vibrating rods (3,4) protruding into the container and which are continuous with a membrane (2). A second membrane (6) is mounted parallel to the first membrane and is mechanically coupled to it (5,51). A piezoelectric element drives the second membrane (7). The first and second membranes normally receive the same oscillations. If the level changes, as detected by the rods, received differences are thus detected by the piezoelectric element.
