Flexible hosepipe with thin flexible wall

The thin flexible wall is made of rubber or weldable fabric. A support structure (7) is fixed to the wall and extends along the periphery and in the axial direction of the hosepipe. The support structure is formed of an elastically deformable helical plastics pipe closed or closable at the ends and filled with pressurised gas pref. air, in operation. At least one end of the support pipe has a pressurised air valve (6) for connecting to a source of pressurised air. The pipe wall consists of strips of fabric (1,2) axially and spirally adjacent and welded together at the edges (3,5,4,6). The support pipe can contain an electric lead.
