Motor vehicle control system

The vehicle control system is divided into main areas e.g. engine compartment, dashboard and the remainder of vehicle. Each area has a distribution system (20,30,40) which connects to the different consumer circuits e.g. instruments, engine etc. The control system has a system of control lines (5,6,7,8) which connect the ignition switch (18) to the separate distribution systems to enable each area to operate independent to the others. The operation of the ignition switch, to either on or off,is transmitted to the separate distribution systems to control the operation. If one area has a fault then the remainder of the vehicle control systems remain active.
