A movable part rotates around a pivot point in relation to a fixed part (5) and clamps the rope end tightly. The fixed part is cylindrical and is a shaft of a forked pair of shafts of a wind surf rig. The movable part is displaceable on the fixed part when there is no pull on the rope end (6). The clamp displacement is rendered difficult by a spring arrangement, so that the movable part does not automatically move when there is no pull on the rope end. The clamp effect occurs only by pulling on the rope end vertically to the fixed part and is removed by pulling on the rope end parallel to the fixed part. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as a safety trapeze fixture for a wind-surfer. Provides an easily adjustable rope end fixture which also incorporates an emergency release facility.
