The electric motor (22) is reversible in its rotational direction for the application or tensioning of the encircling band (9). The positioning lever (25), with the tensioning of the band is swivelable against a counter force (G), by which the band can be tautly tightened. A position sensor (47) is provided and allocated to the positioning lever. It determines the swivel position of the lever and generates a corresp. positional signal, for the control unit (48) of the band application and tensioning unit (14).
