Flue pipe is based on clay, granular lean material and flux powder in a mixture producing a seal. At least part of the lean material has a higher thermal conductivity than fireclay and is pref. wholly or partly of Si carbide, representing at least 1 wt.% of the mixture. The proportion is pref. higher with increasing particle size.
