Flue-gas cooler with an upper hot, dry inlet zone and a lower wet zone which, all the way round, has an inner surface which is to be supplied with a downward-flowing liquid film, characterised in that at least one saturation nozzle with an end face over which the liquid film flows opens into the inner surface of the wet zone.
