The endless conveyor (1) follows a convex contour, and comprises a number of article holders (2) such as grippers, for receiving separate articles (V). A first conveyor part (3), in operation, moves continuously, while a second conveyor part (4), in operation, moves intermittently. The first conveyor part at one end (3a) is bounded by a return wheel (5) having a stationary rotary shaft (6). The return wheel is also rotatable for driving the conveyor. The first conveyor part at its other end (3b) is bounded by a stationary conveyor-guide element (7). The second conveyor part at both its ends (4a,4b) is bounded by conveyor-guide elements (8,9) arranged for synchronous reciprocation relative to each other. |
