<p>A wireless remote control system for use with video game system or other controllable system includes a remote unit and a receiver unit. The receiver unit (101) includes a plurality of detectors (102a, 103a, 104a, 105a) for detecting a signal transmitted by the remote unit. Additionally, angle-limiting devices (102, 103, 104, 105) are coupled to each detector. The angle limiting devices limit signal reception to a unique angular region for their respective detectors, depending on angle-limiting device orientation. In operation, a signal transmitted from the remote unit is received by one or more of the detectors, and based upon the strength of the signal received by each detector, the system determines the angular location of the remote unit relative to the receiver unit.</p> |
