The shears have a common pivot about which two handgrips can swivel. Cutting edges are arranged on a first part, which has side edges (15,16), and a second part which has edges (18,19) which can work in combination with one of the edges of the first part. The edges on the second part are inclined at a fixed angle to the plane of the edges on the first part. One of the handgrips (11) may be connected to the first part, while the other handgrip (13) may be connected to the second part, and may be able to swivel through 180 degrees to the other side of the first handgrip.
