VIDEO GAME DEVICE FOR SIMULATION GAME OF COMIC BOOK

A video game device provides audio-visual display in a manner to simulate an episodic character in pages of comic books. The disply is defined by individual panels which are continuously arranged to form a layout page. A play which uses a player control character is restricted to an active panel. A predetermined task of the character must be completed in the active panel. After the completion of the task, a player can advance along the continuously arranged panels which form a story. A dialogue system is provided whereby it is possible to simulate a balloon which gives feelings, effects and matters of help with respect to the characteristics in telling a story of the game. A function having a graphical effect is provided whereby it is possible to augment an effect in simulating a medium in the form of a comic book which involves torn sheets of paper and hands of a comic book writer. Also, with the video game device and method, capabilities of a video game system controller and a data storage device are enhanced which provide storage and processing of graphic character elements.
