Window or door fitting

The fitting for a window or door presses the window or door side piece, on the hinge side, against the frame (10). A contact section (1) is located on the window side (9) or frame, with a contact surface (4) falling in the closure direction (3) and with a stop surface (5) falling steeply away from the hinge side. A hook (2) is located on the window or frame side, which has a rod- or finger-like appearance in cross-section and has a supporting region (7). This region locates against the contact surface of the contact section as the window is shut, and against the stop surface once the window is shut.
