The X-ray appts., for mammography, has a moving slit diaphragm (4) to blend a fan-shaped beam bundle (2), which is moved over a picture field. A beam detector (6, 7) has a scintillator (6) and an electronic image converter (7) in optical contact, such as a CCD converter. A scattered beam screen (8) is in front of the beam detector (6, 7), in the direction of light travel, adjusted synchronously with the slit diaphragm.
