The proposed vapour-liquid power unit is intended for use in the conversion of thermal energy to mechanical or electrical output. The unit comprises a flexible variable-volume evaporator (1) which is connected via a vapour-liquid adiabatic duct (4) to a refrigeration unit (3) to which a forced discharge pipe (5) is connected, forming a U-shaped oscillation loop (6) which is filled with a liquid (7), operates as a pendulum and helps to form the working medium. The evaporator (1) and part of the cavity of the vapour-liquid duct (4) are filled with working medium. An intake pipe (8) with a non-return valve (9) is connected to the vapour-liquid adiabatic duct. The oscillatory motion of the liquid pendulum is converted to mechanical motion or electrical output in converters which can be positive displacement pumps, a linear generator (24), an axial hydraulic turbine (28) with circulation loop (29) and an immersion hydraulic turbine (35, 36). |
