Suction device for dental use

A suction module is placed on a working table and is joined to a suction channel by means of a suction connector. The suction channel joins to the vacuum source. A controllable valve arrangement is located either in the suction module or in the suction channel or between the suction connector and the suction channel. The valve acts as an on/off switch and also as a throttle device to control the suction pressure. A pressure controller operates the valve. The controller is programmed so that when the command is given to close the valve it closes and then re-opens immediately and then closes again several times in succession e.g. three times before finally coming to rest in the closed position.
