<p>The invention relates to a baby pacifier comprising an actual nipple part (20) and a shield of the pacifier. The actual nipple part comprises a piece made of elastic or resilient material to be held in the baby's mouth, between the middle section of the palate and the tongue, on which piece the baby exerts suction by the movements of the jaws and the tongue. According to the invention, the actual nipple part (20) is shaped so that its cross-sectional profile (21), viewed in a vertical cross-sectional plane of the buccal cavity, is elongated so that protrusions (26, 28) directed from the middle (23) of said cross section to both sides extend to the alveolar ridges (12, 14) and/or the teeth (16, 18) of the baby's upper jaw. Said protrusions are shaped so as to create from the baby's sucking motion essentially lateral outward pressure on the inside of said alveolar ridges and deciduous teeth.</p> |
