<p>An exercise device (20) for use by an exerciser in exercising his back muscles includes a frame (21), waist support (44), leg stop (56), and weight carriage (28). The frame (21) comprises a ground contacting base (22) and front and rear frame members (24, 26). The waist support (44) is located on top of the front frame member (24) and the leg stop (56) is located on the bottom of the rear frame member (26). The weight carriage (28) is rotatably mounted to the frame (21) and includes a carriage frame (76), weight supporting bars (78, 80) and a handle (88). The carriage (28) is movable between a first resting position in which it extends downwardly from the front frame member (24) to a second extended position in which it extends generally horizontally out from the front frame member (24).</p> |
