Sealing method for prevention of dangerous gas entry into buildings

The discovery comprises a seal to prevent the entry of dangerous gases, esp. radon from the foundation area into a building. The seal is a horizontal sealing layer (2) between the walls (8) and floor (6) and the foundations (1, 10). The novelty comprises the use of specially positioned wires or rods (3) beneath the sealing layer (2) to create small channels (4) on either side of the wires in which the gas collects and is then led to the outside atmosphere via vertical pipes connected to the channels (4). The wires (3) are arranged parallel to the walls of the building. For extra security an arrangement of extra sealing strips can be used beneath the wall, floor foundation layer intersection.
