Check-points (P) are provided between successive stations (S) to detect the arrival of the conveyance - e.g. train, tram - one (P1) at the start point, the next (P2) where the vehicle reaches maximum speed, and the rest at intervals corresponding to 30sec travel time at minimum service speed. When a check-point reports an arrival, the control centre establishes from the previous check-point report the deviation, if any, from the time-table programme, and calculates a target speed at the succeeding check-point. The precalculated normal speed (8A), intermediate between maximum (6) and minimum (7) service speeds, is determined by the time-table. If any deviation (P) occurs, the procedure will impose a modified regime (8B) to compensate for this and ensure arrival at the prescribed time. |
