Use of a recombinant turkey herpes virus (HVT) for production of live, recombinant avian vaccines, intended for vaccination in ovo, of day-old chicks, or of adults to protect against an avian pathogen (A), is new. Use of recombinant turkey herpes virus (HVT) for production of live, recombinant avian vaccines, intended for vaccination in ovo, of day-old chicks, or of adults, is new. The recombinant HVT includes at least one nucleic acid (I) that encodes and expresses an antigen (Ag) of (A), inserted into intergene region 1, 2 or 3 of the BamHI fragment of the HVT genome. These intergene regions correspond, in a virus having an approximately 5.8 kb sequence (reproduced) for the BamHI fragment, to positions 1213-1383; 1942-2283 or 3082-3569, respectively. |
