FIELD: textile industry; devices for treatment of fabric web edges by application of solidifying compositions to edge part of fabric webs. SUBSTANCE: the known technical solutions fail to ensure the required quality of produced edge with use of high-viscosity and melting compositions. Besides, difficulties arise in making edges on the industrial fabric webs whose thickness exceeds 1.5 mm (for instance, drying nets 1.8-2.3 mm thick of paper-making machines). The indicated drawbacks are overcome by use of the offered device which consists of unit for application of solidifying composition and pressing-through unit. The latter is located behind the unit for application of solidifying composition and made of relative to the fabric web surface. The plates are kinematically connected with fabric web by means of transmission with gear ratio L calculated by formula L =, where Vplate is plate movement speed, and Vweb is web movement speed. The plates are installed on guides parallel or at angle to fabric web for movement over them and connected with fabric web through chain transmission. The latter is connected with fabric web through toothed friction clutch. Plates are kinematically connected with returning unit, for instance, with returning weight. Chain transmission is kinematically connected with toothed-type clutch with gear ratio calculated by formula M=where D1 is contact diameter of tooth-type clutch, and D2 is diameter of pitch circle of driving sprocket of chain transmission of plate drive.
