FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method refers to identification of brands of rocket propellants. Proposed method provides for mixing analyzed sample with chemical reagent and identification of brand of propellant by change of color of prepared solution. Analyzed sample is injected in advance with aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. 0.5-1.0 M solution of iodine in methanol is used as reagent.
