The automated lead-frame loader for the production of semiconductor device has an X-Y axis loading robot and an elevator system(21) for a lead-frame magazine(7). The loading robot whose repeating accuracy is plus/minus 1mm and is programmable with a calibration mode for each position, includes a first feeder(25) actuated by an air cylinder(6). The first feeder(25) includes a pushing arm(3) for a lead-frame(31) and an overload detecting sensor(1) for protecting the lead-frame from being damaged when the pushing force against the lead-frame is overloaded. The first feeder(25) pushes the lead-frame stacked in the magazine(7) onto a guide rail(15), and a second feeder(2b) draws the lead-frame to the exact pick-up position, and then a pick-up plate(24) having a lot of vacuum pads(13) transports the lead-frame to a fixture(32) having a lot of loading holes(39).
