The staple gun has a pneumatic cylinder (3) which drives the staple insert strip (5) to punch a staple from a magazine feed (80 into the workpiece. The pneumatic piston is controlled by a valve whose valve element (34) is normally held in the inactive position. The underside of the piston is in constant contact with the pneumatic pressure while the upper surface is selectively connected to pneumatic pressure or to atmosphere. The air vented on the return stroke is ducted out between the top cover (24) and the housing via a ring shaped duct inside which is a ring shaped insert ring with a rotational control for the vented air. The outlet duct is ring shaped and the insert ring is clamped between the cover and the housing. The outlet is radial through the cover, which is a steel turned component. |
