The invention which is the subject of the application relates to an improved locating and locking device for use to maintain window sashes or doors, hereinafter referred to as sashes, in a closed position relative to a surrounding frame. Conventional locking devices of one type include the provision of a locating protrusion which is locatable in a slot in a keep mounted on the frame when the sash is brought to a closed position by sliding the protrusion into the slot. The current invention provides at least one set of locating protrusions 18, 20 which allow the sash to be located in more than one plane thereby preventing the locating protrusions and/or sash from being manipulated to remove the protrusion and open the sash and thereby increase the security over conventional devices. <IMAGE> |
