PURPOSE: To obtain a cloth for ink-jet printing, giving a sharp and dense printed image and free from spreading and background staining by including a cationic substance and a specific component in a cellulosic fiber cloth. CONSTITUTION: A dense printed material free from spreading of the printed pattern can be produced by printing a cloth made of preferably cotton or viscose rayon with an ink containing a reactive dye containing 0.1-50wt.% (based on the dried cloth) of a cationic substance, 0.01-5wt.% of an alkaline substance and 0.01-20wt.% of a polybasic acid ammonium salt. The cationic substance is a compound containing (m) (for formula I) and (n) (for formula II) structural units of formula I and formula II (X is a halogen; R0 is H or CH3 ; R1 to R3 are each methyl, etc.; Q is C2 H4 ) at an m:n ratio of 8:2 to 2:8, a compound having (p) and (q) structural units of formula III and formula IV (Y is a halogen; R4 and R5 are each CH3 , etc.) at a p:q ratio of 8:2 to 2:8 or a polymer having a structural unit of formula V (Z is a halogen; R is H or CH3 ). |
