PURPOSE: To demonstrate the excellent stability and controllability whether the road surface condition is wet or dry. CONSTITUTION: In a pneumatic radial tire 10 of the double crown structure, the modulus MT in the circumferential direction of a base rubber 20B is reduced while the modules MW in the width direction is increased, and the ratio MW/MT (modulus ratioη)of the modulus MW in the width direction to the modulus MT in the circumferential direction is 1.5. Considering the tread rigidity of the double crown structure, the bending rigidity in the circumferential direction becomes larger and the bending rigidity in the width direction becomes lower than the rigidity in the circumferential direction compared with the tire of the normal single crown structure. On the other hand, the modulus MW in the width direction is increased and the bending rigidity in the width direction is increased in the base rubber, and the tread rigidity can be improved when the side force is generated. At the same time, the modulus MT in the circumferential direction is reduced and the bending rigidity in the circumferential direction is reduced to increase the wheel print length, and the cornering power is improved thereby, and the stability and controllability can be improved.
