PURPOSE: To satisfactorily blank an image without damaging a recording medium controlling a latent image erasing heater in response to a recording medium conveying speed in the case of selectively heating in the state that contact material such as liquid, etc., is brought into contact with a surface to form a latent image, developing it, then transferring it. CONSTITUTION: In the case of forming an image on a recording sheet 2, first the surface of the sheet 1 is heated by a thermal head 3 in the state that liquid or solid to become liquid by heating is brought into contact with it. A retracting contact angle responsive to the heating temperature is formed, a recording agent containing colorant is brought into contact with the heated part (latent image part) to form a visible image, and the visible image is transferred to the sheet 2. After the visible image is transferred, the latent image part surface is heated by an image-blanking heater 7 in the state in no contact with the liquid, etc., thereby to erase the latent image. In this case, a recording medium speed is detected by a speed detecting sensor, and the temperature of the heater 7 is regulated in response to the detected speed. Thus, the image blanking without damaging the medium is conducted. |
