摘要 PURPOSE: To make it possible to improve detectability of blood flow information from echo signals of a weak powder and to improve a frame rate of the echo signals when the echo signals have the sufficient power. CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic beam from a probe 4 is transmitted into the living body. The resulted reflection echo signals are processed by a signal transmission and reception circuit 3 and are inputted to a tomographic processing section 5 and a Doppler signal processing section 6. The average flow velocity value and dispersion value of the tomographic data from the tomographic processing section 5 and the blood flow data from the Doppler signal processing section 6 are displayed on a display device 19. On the other hand, the average power value for one frame of the concern region is calculated by a power average value calculating section 22 from the power value of the Doppler signals determined in the power calculating section 20. The data on the number of times of beam transmission corresponding to the average power value of the concern region is determined by a number-of-transmission-times calculating section 23 and is inputted to a control circuit 1 by which the number of transmission times to actually transmit the beams in the same direction is controlled.
