PURPOSE: To provide a fiber producible from a specific polyethylene resin composition by melt spinning in excellent spinnability, having excellent thermal fusion characteristics, suitable for preparing a nonwoven fabric useful for a disposable diaper, a sanitary napkin, a food packaging material, etc. CONSTITUTION: This fiber is obtained by melt spinning of a polyethylene resin composition containing two kinds copolymers consisting of an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer and/or an ethylene-nonconjugative diene copolymer and having Mw/Mn of <=5 as main components. One of the above copolymers has MI of 20-100g/10min and a density of 920-970kg/m<3> , and another copolymer has MI of 20-100g/10min, the number (BN) of branches every 1000 carbon atoms of 10-80 and the maximum melting point of <=(130-BN) deg.C. The weight ratio of both of the copolymers is 10/90 to 90/10 in the fiber. A nonwoven fabric having excellent softness, feeling and producibility is obtained from the fiber.
