摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce artifacts that are caused by a conical beam restructuring method by producing a tomographic image by combining a filtered mid-range density image data set and an, extreme-range density image data set. SOLUTION: A set of two-dimensional slices 96 is obtained by the two dimensional Fourier transformation of each slice of the three-dimensional image 86 of soft tissue and is filtered using a filter nucleus in a table 95, and filtered two-dimensional slices are returned to an object space by two-dimensional reverse Fourier transformation 70. A new synthetic image 100 in which artifacts are reduced is produced by preparing the image slices of the soft tissue that are corrected by the reverse Fourier transformation 70 and adding them to corresponding slices in the image 38 of bone and air. Such combination is made by adding image slices 88 of the bone and the air and image slices 86 of the soft tissue that have been corrected in the filtering process with an adder 102 on a pixel basis.
