PURPOSE: To enable the avoidance of misjudgment of stability by inhibiting lock-up operation in the lock-up control device of an automatic transmission at the time of judging the generation of abnormality to an engine in the case of performing the correcting control of a target lean air-fuel ratio in a lean combustion area. CONSTITUTION: In an ECU 6 to which the output of an airflow meter 7, a crank angle sensor 9, a water temperature sensor 10, a throttle sensor 11, an oxygen sensor 12, and the like is inputted, air-fuel mixture is formed on the basis of a target lean air-fuel ratio when an engine operating condition corresponds to a lean combustion operation area. The stability of an engine is detected, and the target lean air-fuel ratio in lean combustion control is corrected on the basis of the detected stability. The abnormality of the engine is judged on the basis of at least one of the stability of the engine and the correction quantity of the target lean air-fuel ratio based on the stability. In the case of judging the generation of abnormality, lock-up operation in a lock-up control device is inhibited. |
