PURPOSE: To improve insertion ability of a catheter, by containing more plasticiz er in a tube material near the head part arranged with a catheter balloon than other area at a specified amount and making the tube material flexible. CONSTITUTION: A front part 6 of a catheter is composed of a head part 2 arranged with a balloon 5 and a head neighbouring part 4 which is adjacent to the head part. The area of the head neighbouring part 4 adjacent to the head part 2 contains more plasticizer than the other area by 5-70% and is made more flexible than the other area of the tube 1. Consequently, hardness of the tube 1 can remain as usual because only the front part 6 of the catheter is made flexible. Therefore, operability of the catheter is not impaired. Furthermore, this catheter can be easily passed into a younger patient such as an infant or the like, by making a curvature radius of approximately 4-10mm provided on the flexible head neighbouring part 4. |
