FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process engineering, particularly to devices intended for separating materials by their magnetic properties. Electromagnetic separator comprises electromagnet with pole terminals with detachable units arranged between the latter. Said units incorporated poly gradient elements representing parallel plates inclined to vertical plane and connected to unlike pole terminals. Aforesaid poly gradient plates feature opposite slots with their axes having opposite angle of inclination to vertical plane. ^ EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability. ^ 2 dwg
