PURPOSE: To restrain splashing an atomized coating material sideways near an object to be coated and to improve adhesiveness in painting by making a line going to an air outlet have length and a straightening mechanism enough for dropping the inner pressure near an outlet to almost the same degree of pressure as that of outer atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION: In an air curtain generator part 20, compressed air fed from a compressed air feeding pipe 24 flows in an air open chamber part 23 having large sectional area from a compressed air feeding pipe 24 and an air introducing port 25 having small sectional area, thereby pressure energy is converted into velocity energy, and the air is straightened while it passes through a straightening line part 22 and reaches an air outflow port 26. Therefore, pipe internal pressure near the air outflow port 26 is reduced to almost the same pressure as that of outer atmospheric pressure and the air is straightened, so that the air is hardly diffused even after discharged and reaches an object to be coated with the flow along the axial lines of pipe bodies 21a, 21b,... kept. In this way, an air curtain flow is formed on the outer periphery of the flow of an atomized coating material flowing along the axial line of a barrel 10 of a spray gun. |
