PURPOSE: To secure the traveling stability of a vehicle at the failing time of a power transmission switching device such as an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION: A power transmission switching device for transmitting power, outputted from a cylinder changeable engine 100, to wheels is connected to this engine 100. A control device for a vehicle is provided with a failure judging means 102 for judging the failure of the power transmission switching means 101, and an inhibiting means 103 for inhibiting the change of a combustion cut-off cylinder in the engine 100 in the case of judging the failure of the power transmission switching device 101. |
